re: newbie!!

Hi Lee..
Stayed in the Perun last March, absolutely superb hotel with great facilities and good food, only 500m from the gondolar but also has free minibus if your tired..
With a heavy snowfall you will definately see snow in the village, very likely as you are a beginner you will be spending your first few days on the Ski road near the gondolar base, hopefully as you improve you will get a chance to get up the mountain (20 mins in gondolar) and you will then appreciate the altitude and ...

Just out of interest are you doing any instruction here, dry slope or snowdome ??? its really worth it as you will progress much quicker when you get to the real snow Very Happy

Hope this helps

re: newbie!!

Its gotta be worth it mate, even if its just getting used to having boots and skis on...
Its unlikely that the time allowed would cause you any problems picking up bad habits, in fact you are more likely to get the bad habits on snow, its a lot more forgiving than a dry slope...
Treat a dry slope as mearly a learning surface, it requires exactly the same technique as the snow, you will travel a lot slower and it will give you time to appreciate what you are being taught, half a dozen ...

re: newbie!!

Perfect, good instructors as well Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
When you are in Bansko try and search out `Oggy', a BG instructor who taught at Sheffield, you could speak to his mate `George' in the main ski rental at the gondolar base station, `Oggy' will also be available for private tuition, definately the best and fastest way to learn (30 lev hour)
Tell George that `Steve and Karen' will be out later in the season to see em all Booze Booze Booze

re: newbie!!

will do mate, what is the lev per £ roughly?
Steve C Author: posts : 13   (Beginner)Date : 11-15-05 13:49

re: newbie!!

Expect around 2.7 lev to £, most hotels will exchange at good rate including Perun...
Just make sure there clean notes (£20.00) with no tears or writing on them, definately the best way to exchange..
Cheers Booze
