lovely resort only word of advice is to never order anything without knowing how much it costs first, if its not on the menu do not order it , only resort in Bulgaria I have come across that can sting you with crazy prices for food and wine by offering you the house special - other than that its lovely and you must have a banana and chocolate pancake on the way back from sking one night, from the little hut on the main road below the gondola they are divine

My advice is:
Eat out in the little mehanas, how ever if you are fussy about your food make sure you know what you are getting (the menu translations are not so descriptive).
Don t be offended by the way Bulgarians speak to you, it sometimes can seem like they are being aggressive or rude, just remember they are speaking to you in our language.
At the lift queues, do as everyone else does! muscle in, if you don t someone else will!
Gondola queues, was in Bansko last year about ...

Gondola queues, was in Bansko last year about this time, always went really early or about ten oclock and never had a problem with queueing. but it could be different this year.
Most important, enjoy yourself and make the most of your trip.

All good advice, thanks guys. Has any one done the tuition? Not so sure about how you know where the lessons are and where you get the hire stuff from? It will probably all become clear, just a bit worried cos I have never been on a holiday were a rep meets you at the airport

With Balkan Holidays last year, the rep that met us at the airport stuck us on a bus to bansko, gave us an information pack which had a meeting time and place the next morning (it was about 8 oclock) where we got our lift passes and vouchers for kit hire. I m not sure about lessons, but i would imagine that they give you all the details for that at the same time.

Everything always appears chaotic but all falls into place nicely, be prepared for a queue for equipment etc.... first day after that all runs smoothly, enjoy.
