We have just come back from an excellent week in Pamps over New Year. Great skiing, great snow and great ski skool (Amy). Only problem was the 2 hours each day waiting for the bus to the slopes; fighting the Germans (and Brits) to get on and walking the two miles in snow when the buses couldn’t run!Still worth it!

Was it that far from your hotel. Gulp! Where were you staying, hope it's not that far for me (Hotel Perelik)! Youre getting me worried!

I am amazed anyone would wait 2 hours for a bus. Our group has never hesitated to jump in a taxi if the bus is full. Come on, 4 of you for £3!! Hardly needs a cashpoint stop to pay for it. And the fun you have in those taxis if you ask them to 'step on it'!! You will know what I mean!! I am booked into the Perelik and there is no need to worry. If the bus is full, the taxis are right there waiting for your signal.

Bad News I'm afraid - we were in Perilik!
Perelik is the first hotel on the bus route, so you stand half a chance of pushing infront of the frail and young to get the bus down to the slopes. The return trip is the real cattle market. Grid-lock is common with broken down or bumped cars halting the one way system! Try and share a taxi back for about 10Levs (£4) if they are running.

There was a wait of up to two hours a day (one hour each way).The taxis were not always running, one day it took the taxi 20 minutes to take us about 1/2km before we gave up and continued to walk. In the ice, the walk was taking about one hour.

Myself and my wife also ran accross the same problems last week, but the skiing more than made up for it. Our ski instructor gave us an alternative route back to the hotel which involved taking the 1 man chair lift to the mid station then the other 1 man chair lift down to the other side of the mountain it was then a 15 min walk back along the side of the road to the hotel Morgavets.Geraint

You don't paint a pretty picture guys. Im on my first ski holiday with my wife and 8 year old daughter. This isnt sounding like much fun to me. Please chear me up, tell me some good things about the Perelik etc.Burton Dave

Geraint, that sounds like a good idea if the problem is as bad as indicated. I have checked the map and it doesn't appear to be that far to walk.Cheers
