please say a prayer for Yuri

I have received a telephone call today from Yuri - he is 17 years old boy who lives in the institute. He was scared out of his wits when he called me to tell me he was in hospital alone. He said that he was having “an operation on an organ in the centre of his body” tomorrow. This was the first I have heard of it so I telephoned Jasmine and it was confirmed. She also had to investigate why none of the staff had made her aware of the situation. He will be in the hospital for over three ...

She also had to investigate why none of the staff had made her aware of the situation. He will be in the hospital for over three weeks. I am going to ask Carole and Andie to visit him with me whilst they are in BG, I know no more than this but Doug is going to see him this evening. I pray for Yuri. To hear a big lad like this cry on the telephone breaks my heart. I can’t believe no one told me before as I would have been there with him.

Another day - another heartbreak.

God give us strength to end this living hell for them.

Please tell him everybody on this board is thinking of him.

Incidences like this make me so angry but so very sad. It's bad enough these children having to suffer from the cold and without other basics in life without the miseries of not having anyone to turn to at times when they are frightened and in pain.

It makes you realise how fortunate we and are loved ones all are doesn't it. Please God we can help bring them some comfort.

Yes all the children have my number and can call me anytime. To be left alone in an empty hospital room, no company would be hell, he is one of the biggest boys and to hear his cries of fright was awful. I am just happy that Doug is there every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am awaiting a call from Doug telling me the situation, Doug only speaks a couple of words in Bulgarian and Yuri speaks no English, Doug will collect Jasmine to translate i hope first.

I wish i could be there with him. If anyone is comming out and can offer a nice warm dressing robe for this young man this week it would be apreciated. I dread to think how he will be cared for when he comes out Crying

Doug and Jasmine have just been to visit Yuri. His operation will take place on Thursday, I can not understand why he has to be hospitalised this far in advance, well the hospital has its plus sides, it is very warm and clean in the hospital. Doug and Jasmine have just been to visit Yuri. His operation will take place on Thursday, I can not understand why he has to be hospitalised this far in advance, well the hospital has its plus sides, it is very warm and clean in the hospital. After speaking with the doctor his condition is one of a delicate nature, Yuri has a serious amount of internal haemorrhoids, they have been there for a long period of time. Due to the amount of haemorrhoids and the size, he will have to have some of his bowel tubing stapled after, hence the long stay. Without going into graphic detail on this delicate matter, Yuri will be very uncomfortable for quite sometime after the surgery. I don’t want to here any of the jokes in relation to this subject either.

Doug will make regular visits to the hospital in order to keep Yuri entertained a little and I will see him next week. I will keep you posted.

re: please say a prayer for Yuri

The sad truth is how many Yuris and Slavchos are there in this world Crying apart from raising the money for the heating I hope all of us will stick together and do what we can for these kids. I hope it will help them to know that people in a different country are thinking of them and trying to help by our contributions.
