re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 29TH JAN - FINALLY, IT'S PROPER SNOW!!

Great to hear snow is falling. I am coming out on the 13th Feb with my 15 year son for our first ever ski trip. Staying at Bor Hotel or Edelweis which I understand is a bit of a walk from the slopes. We have booked lessons each morning but can you leave your skis each day ie lockers, or do you have to carry them back to hotel ?

I have never done a package holiday in boro as until I moved here always booked independently, but I am sure others are on the site who have who will be able to help. I think the package guys just use Samokov or Borosport ski school (the 2 biggest ones) so you will just leave your equipment there at the end of the night and collect it in the morning. Alternatively, the hotels run a shuttle service to and from the slopes and if you wanted to you could take your equipment back with you on the bus and leave it in the hotel depot overnight to pick up in the morning. People says that is sometimes easier to take it with them if for example equipment is at the Rila, but they are meeting at the gondola.
Anyway, there will be people along shortly who have probably booked the same package as you before and will be able to give you a better answer! Enjoy your hols! Smile

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 29TH JAN - FINALLY, IT'S PROPER SNOW!!

Guys...

Quick update - skiing on rila and yastrebets is very good - no change to lifts / runs. Sun is out and snow has stopped but will keep the positive thoughts for the weekend / next week that the forecasters are finally right and it's all on it's way....!!!

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 29TH JAN - FINALLY, IT'S PROPER SNOW!!

SpikeyMikey - thanks for your post. I will say that I did say it had stopped snowing but at least we had some 'proper snow' for a change... I also have never once mentioned the Markudjik slopes condition as being anything other than 'closed', so not sure why you are saying these are in 'poor condition' and have 'credibility' issues with me...
Buy hey...if it makes you happy...

Cheers Alex - all new to me - so to read your response puts me in a very happy place and given there is snow on the way even better. Any other tips you can pass across would be gratefully received. Thanks
