Am finally happy to tell you that the 'big, proper, romantic' snow arrived in Samokov last night - we have had about 3 cm of new snow... I know that is not loads BUT it is still snowing now, albeit much lighter again, similar to the snow we have had recently. Normally, if it snows here, then at resort level it is heavier still, BUT other half is going up in about 20mins and will update you as soon as he calls me. At the moment it is still too early to let you know about the ...

At the moment it is still too early to let you know about the lift situation - earliest we get to know is about 8.30, but there is probably not much difference in terms of open runs as we need quite a bit more to make much difference. Saying that...this is the first time all season we have had any heavy snow at all, so here's hoping for you all....!

Super thanx Kaswe come again over for the weekend, saturday snowkiting in Sofia(a friend of ours told us it just snowed there also), and sunday and monday at Borovets at the top areas
Passing at the Titanic,... By the way the chicken roquefort is very much recommanded there !

Runs / lifts etc are identical to yesterday, with the Rila drag now fixed / working and Yastrebets 2 closed due to the competition - it will open again tomorrow. At the top of the mountain, there has been about 4 1/2 to 5 cm of new snow, so a bit more that down here but it is not enough to open the Markudjik slopes yet. The nursery at the top however is still open. It is now sunny in the resort and at the top, although there are still some snow clouds around. It is still snowing ...

It is still snowing very lightly but we're now back to the fine snow that looks like ash...all the 'romantic' snow has stopped for the moment...!
So...to summarise....
Yastrebets 3 ONLY open - (Yastrebets 2 shut today for the comp) and excellent conditions
Gondola open and run down to Yastrebets is much better, but still a bit rocky
Rila, glika and yanakiev (Rotata) drags open
Rila 4 man chair open - Martinovi 2 and 3 (both red) skiiable and very 'good' conditions - snow cannons have been on
Sitnyakovo Express is still closed, but people are already on there skiing it, despite the fact they have to pick out the rocks!! Sitnyakovo drag open but conditions are not 'great'
All Markudjik slopes are still closed...
Mussala path still closed but again, people have already started going down it and although it is still poor, it is better than yesterday, but not sure how long that will last - they said probably for about an hour!
So, my suggestion is....keep dancing!!

It's stopped snowing but....before everyone starts to despair, the forecast was just for a small bit last night / early morning and then another couple of inches over the weekend and then heavier next week. So...I don't want to start predicting and I know the forecasts have been wrong all season BUT they were right yesterday/ this morning, so maybe there's a first time for everything!

Thanks Kas,good news as we are on the way to the airport. Berlin has been completely covered by snow for the third time since Christmas. Althought we now what snow looks and feeld like we can not await. Arriving Borovets at 7 pm. See you on Tuesday at Titanic.

Sorry to use this thread but, Kas did you get my email? Not sure if it went through... Arriving next week and i am so glad the snow is getting better by the day. Highlight of my day is seeing the improvements as the days go by, thanks Kas.Taff
