re: In Bansko Now...

Hi everybody,

We're in Bansko now so here's a post for all those travelling out soon or simply interested Smile

Yesterday was sunny all day but still cold, today was quite misty with light snow on several occasions. The runs not open are numbers 9, 12 and 16. There are some races being held so yesterday blue 10 was closed and today it was red 7 although they did open later on.

Snow conditions are pretty good although quite icy in some places, the cannons have been running lots! The ski road is in good condition and skiable all the way down.

We skiid chalin this afternoon, run 15 anyway, it was exceptionally icy so not ideal. All of the blue runs have great cover and up top there is a lot of powder... Great fun Smile red 7 and 8 pretty good with some ice and red 4 is fantastic up top but a little icy nearer the bottom.

We are having a fab time and I believe more snow is due so things can only get better...

Off for dinner now, hope this update is useful to some peeps!

Might get chance to further update later in the week

Rach

re: In Bansko Now...

good question mihajlo. Is this based on what you read about the queues at New Year ?

re: In Bansko Now...

Hi all

Nice try s.p but we flew Sunday so still have 4 more days on the slopes Very Happy

As for the gondola, we arrive just after 8.30 with only a few minutes wait but we had to return there this morning just after 9 and the queues were out both doors... c25 mins... These are due to ski schools, after 10am you can walk strAight on.

I think the piste map on this site has run numbers, also try banskoski.com

re: In Bansko Now...

Mihajlo...... Is it still new year at te end of jan ?
Have the other resorts got snow ?
Is it the Russian new year again at the end of Jan ?
Is it a Greek holiday at the end of Jan ?

See where I am coming from ?

re: In Bansko Now...

Dave, that's a bit sarcastic isn't it?

Mihajlo didn't ask about the other resorts, Russian new year, Greek holiday or anything else, he asked a simple and polite question about the queue time at the gondola.
