Personally I have never seen any trouble in any holiday resort in any Med country Ive visited nor the Canaries.
And thats even including countless nights strolling in at 8am.... from the clubs.
Having gone to Uni in Cardiff and down there so often these days its supposed to be one of the worst places for fighting - however in all my 12 years of going there I have not Once seen any fighting nor been involved & I go to any pub not just the posh ones I quite like dingy old fashioned ones ...

From reading th above I would have made a formal complaint to the hotel Manager to kick out those who had been fighting not just for the night but the resot of their stay.
Also have to agree with you IF I had been in a situation like you describe it would put me off (and clearly anyone with any sense it would put them off & there are many other places to go to visit).
