First time to bulgaria, fly out on 7th Feb. Whats the shopping like, are they all ski shops or are there a good mix of everything.. What the prices like for clothing [ski wear and casual]re: shopping

Borovets is ok, some nice little shops that sell interesting bits and bobs
If you are after ski stuff take care as 90% is fake and not worth buying
I tried on a north face jacket and it ripped when I tried it on, only to be told that's ok you can sew that, run away!!!
There is a few places that sell nice stuff, ski shop in the rila sell diel ski wear which is superb quaility, I bought some kit there last year

Try going into Samokov, only about 10lev in a taxi. There is a good selection of shops there. The Samokov mall has some nice shops in there, one of them sells Zara and Only clothing very cheap.re: shopping

spice..i like when you say 'intersting bit and bobs'.. a couple of years ago my 13 year old son came back to the hotel with a set of knuckle dusters and a tazar gun!! when i took them back to the shop they were being displayed on a shelf next to borovets fridge magnets and ash trays..
