ski equipment at the samokov hotel

We will be arriving at the Samokov Sat 20 dec early evening for our first ever skiing hol. What is the procedure for getting our skis, lift passes, ski school, etc. Do we get sorted out sat evening or is it a mad scramble sunday morning.

Is everything at the hotel or do we have to go elsewhere for equipment etc.

Anyone been to the Samokov before, whats it like?

And justy where is the snow????????

If you are going with a major tour operator, they will have a meeting on the Sunday morning when they will dish out all the vouchers for everything.

Last year I travelled with Balkan and the meeting was in the Samokov nightclub.

The snow is coming... or at least it better be

Relax, relax, relax.

Remember these people are professionals and have been doing this week after week after week throughout the winter for donkeys years.

You will be given your ski passes and vouchers for your ski equiptment, and ski school at 9am on the day you commence your skiing. You will then be taken by bus to the ski depot where you will be fitted out for your skis etc. and then you will be introduced to your instructor. Groups can stay together if that's what you want, but it ...

Having skied many other countries, I find the depot in Pamporovo to be one of the most efficent and friendly that I have ever encountered.

Have no worries, you will be well looked after.

Hi Dave,
Pamporovo Pete got most of it correct!
But seeing as you are staying at the Samokov which is in BOROVETS there are no busses to catch.
If you are traveling with a big tour operator, and you have pre-booked your ski packs ( much cheaper to book in the UK ) they usually give out the vouchers on the coach from the airport to the resort.
The following morning you go to the depot and get kitted out, you will the meet your instructor and then the fun begins.

The Samokov hotel is the best in borrovets, simple as that.

Have fun

And it's now two months today not yesterday

Dug out my salopettes yesterday, and the ski boots at the weekend - tried them on and realised I need a new pair - my feet must have grown, or am I just not used to how tight they should be. Found my bobble hat and all the thermals. Is it too early to start packing!!!
