ski lifts in pamps

to the pamps regulars,
my wife is scared of hieghts (honest it's my wife that's scared and not me !!) she has never been ski-ing before and were booked to ski school at pamps (jan 13/20) i take it that the ski-lessons are on a lower level ? so how scarey are the lifts ? are they high up ? are they 1 man 2 man or three man, and once we progress then how bad are the lifts as we go higher up ? i hope this makes some sort of sence and hope someone can give a rough guide to pamps ski-lifts, ...

re: ski lifts in pamps

Your first day may well be spent on the lower slopes but it is not unknown to go to the top and use the nursery slope there.

The main 3 man to the top is not to bad if you look forward because it is tree lined and the snow is normally very deep you get the impression you are not that high. Coming down do what my other half does and shut your eyes!!

re: ski lifts in pamps

Pamporovo has 1 man, 2 man, 3 man and 4 man lifts.

As there are no women lifts she will not be able to use any of them Razz

Seriously now, ....... the highest point is probably on the 3 man 3/4 of the way up where it is approx. 40ft above the ground. Very safe though - never yet heard of anybody falling except on dismount.

re: ski lifts in pamps

When it has just snowed its absolutely beautiful going up on the lifts - so peaceful I love it, but a little chilly, and do tell your wife to hang onto the sticks, forget hanging on for dear life, just hang onto the sticks.... unless you want a ski instructer with a nasty frown on his face when he goes to collect it (and that is if you are lucky!) if you drop anything its a gamble as to whether you will see it again... many a camera and mobile has been lost until the snow melts.....

re: ski lifts in pamps

last year our instructor took us to the nursery slope for our lesson. Our first ever snowboarding holiday, never used a chair lift before. When we got to the top we got told off for not putting the bar down.......well no-one told us.
None of us fell out so they must be safe.
