ski wear

Hi everyone. Its our first time going snowboarding (going to boro in march) and was just wondering if anyone knew any good online shops that we can get our ski wear from at quite a reasonable price?! Don't want to break the bank but want decent stuff. We've been to all the local shops and got some bargains but need a few more bits. Any help or tips would be much appreciated Very Happy Thanx!

Oh and a helmet, beginners tend to fall a lot onto bum, knees and occasionally heads, the better protected you are the more fun you will have, I'm sure you don't want to splash out on hardwear but if you can afford any snowboard boots of your own, it will make such a difference to you holiday, I was chatting to a chap in my local snowboard shop today about what a difference any cheap pair of your own boots make to learning, if you hate the sport sell them on with e-bay, you wont regret it. Cool

I'd like a new jacket does anyone know if it would be cheaper to buy in Borovets than the UK?

re: ski wear

i just picked up a cool animal jacket in gunwharf portsmouth, £125, double skinned its the daddy... its gonna last.

if you wanna save money, seek out trespass avoid snow and rock. Unfortunately you will get hwat you pay for. i.e. ive gone through two trespass salopettes in 2 years. This year i bought some mambo ones albeit i bought them last april in the sales £40!!!... so if you know your going next year...wait for the sales this year!!...

PS.. for skis and boots... ebay..

They also have roadshows and some retail outlets but we have had loads of gear from this lot and been pleased with it all.

re: ski wear

I would NEVER use E Bay for ski boots. They need to be fitted and comfortable and you would be extremely lucky to buy a pair without trying them and find they are right for you.

Skis I agree as I bought mine on E Bay - but boots - nooooooo. Confused

re: ski wear

My Salomon performa's are fine and they were from ebay. Much better than the hire boots I got, I mean if I was a pro skier then yeah I'd have to have them pro fitted but if you want to save hassle and worn necks and collars on hire gear then why not try ebay. Do your own thing and take a chance - you might come up trumps Very Happy
