Been to Borovets twice.

Cheap, probably best for intermediate skiiers as their was a problem with cable car which meant the some of the beginners slopes weren;t available and there isn;t too much for advanced skiiers, friendly, great night life, Borovets is due for a major development for next season which will open up more runs and may solve the problem with cable car going to the top, both times I've had good intructors and so have my friends in other groups, accomadation is a bit basic ...

Hope this helps

Chelle & Ella

Went to Borovets last year, this year and have already booked up for next year.

I always say “If anyone goes back, it can’t be that bad now can it ?”

Fantastic skiing, people & après ski.

Superb value for money !

We’ve stayed at the Iglika & Ela, and are stopping at the Mura next year. The people we met this year stopped there last year and they are going back.

Read the comments on this site for the Hotels you are interested in.

You'll love it.....

Went to Pamps in Feb for the first time. Out of 8 of us there were 5 new skiers who are all converted now after fantastic instruction. I have been to various other Euro resorts and really cannt complain about the set up in Pamp. OK, they don't have the longest runs in Europe, but what the hell, it's a great place, fantastic value for money, top people - we will be going back........

I have been to Borovets for the past 2 years. Both times, I have stayed at the Rila. It is good clean + warm accommodation. The lobby bar is spacious and is great to sit in after ski-ing while sipping on a hot chocolate. The food served at the Rila for breakfast and dinner is ok. You can eat as much as you like. We went 21st Feb this year and the snow was OK for the first couple of days although after day 3 parts of the slopes began to melt. However, it did not help that the Gondola was closed for 3 days. The queue for the chair lift was unbelieveable in the mornings although you had to persevere. I kept thinking that it would be a pity for those coming the following week as there would not be much snow left. The nightlife is good in Borovets and there are plenty of cosy bars. The Rila has a nightclub below it. This year we were placed in the rooms facing onto the busy street, which was a total nightmare as my sister had her child with her. He is 3 and it was terrible trying to get him to sleep a whole night through. Next year we would definatley specify not to be placed at this side. I'm not a party pooper, but you can only listen to ''DOH a Deer a female deer'' once over. After 20 times sung by a gang of drunk men standing below your room, it begins to get annoying. Devon the 3 year old has been ski-ing in Borovets for the past 2 years. The instructors are great for children. There are 7 of us going next year. It is such a fab place and is cheap in comparison to other resorts in Europe. The Rila is at the foot of the slopes and all of the amenities are handy.

re: sking

Well that seemed to wake everyone up didn't it!!

We love Bulgaria and stay in Borovets. If you have never been anywhere else then it is a great place to start particularly for the children. We have to go during half term and to be honest this year really was very busy so you should bear this in mind. Lots of plans to increse runs etc but until the work is finished I personally won't be holding my breath!!

We will be back ourselves I'm sure but possibly not in 2005.

Give it a go - ...
