snow blades

Whats the crack with the snowblades ? do you have to be an expert skier to use them ? and is there that much differance using them to skis. Thinking about buying some just need more info first.

re: snow blades

You can hire them in Borovets if you wanted to do that first rather than buy some. My OH did last year.

Easier to use than proper skis. Not good for your technique tho - but loadsa fun to be had!

re: snow blades

Because they are so much shorter they are much easier to control. They are great fun but I personally only like using them for half a day here and there, they can get a little boring i think. Deffinately worth a go.

re: snow blades

We purchased our own for our visit to Pamps in Jan & they are great fun. If you are a speed demon then do not bother but for tighter turns & stuff great fun, Apart from that they fit in you normal luggage. I would reccomenrd them to any one who tends to keep crossong the tips of normal ski's

re: snow blades

Bought some a few years back and they are very easy to use, in fact a beginner after a few runs would be comfortable skiing down a red run on them.

I tend to use them if the visibility is bad, or more often than not when i have a stinking hangover and can't be bothered to concentrate with the longer ski's!

I would hire a pair first though - roll on the 26th Jan!

re: snow blades

If your buying blades I'd go for the ones with release bindings, you get all the fun and no twisted knee's etc. Very Happy

re: snow blades

They are awsome , get on em , learnt on skis and never looked back from blades , they are not as big and daft and easier to carry , and better on snow parks and off piste , LEGENDARY.

re: snow blades

We have short skis but they aren't quite blades - salomon 120cm ones and they are GREAT! Great fun and more stable than blades too
