Footfixer, have been to lapland (Yllas), couple of years ago a few pointers to help you;

Early season has very short daylight hours, late season much better and milder.
Mainly draglifts, though a couple of chairs and gondolas appering in the country.
Alcohol is prohibitively taxed and very expensive.

But the main plus points: the scenery is fantastic, the people friendly, and the resorts do not seem to be overcrowded, you may see the Northern Lights and there are plenty of outings available skidoo trips are fantastic as you can travel a fair distance into the artic wilderness. Husky trips are also very good.
Its certainly a great place for families but the skiing is not challenging and is more suited to a relaxed time with very limited vertical, generally speaking.

Contacted Crystal today as there was a good deal on line and they have confirmed ski buses for norquay & sunshine only go from banff springs,bus depot and Mount royal hotel the buses still same for lake louise no extra roam buses to take to town either and no bus to town supplied by caribou hotel crystal said alot of people not happy but they don't seem to be promoting it don't know what will happen when you get there.
Will just have to hope for more snow in BG and go twice
