Sounds like our flight on Saturday night/Sunday morning home. Found out that Sofia airport was closed on Sat moring because of freezing fog from people who we had met out there. They were on a package holiday and we weren't so lucky we saw them otherwise we would have gone to sofia not realizing that our flight had been changed to Thessaloniki airport in greece. Ended up managing to get hold of a Thomas Cook rep,who got us on one of there transfer buses for 70 lev each. 5 hours later we ended up at Thessaloniki. then was delayed another 5 hours till we were able to get on the flight because we had to wait for everyone from Borovets and Pamporovo. If they were another half an hour later then the flight would have been cancelled to the next day. Definately the joys of travelling.
Friends of ours had to go to Thessaloniki too on saturday, couldnt believe it! We got the news from them as we were on route from Borovets to Plovdiv, naturally we feared the worst as it was a real pea-souper there too. Luckily they managed to get us away after a 2 hour delay. I sure they only did this to clear the departure "lounge". Im sure that they wouldnt have risked take offs if they could have accomodated everyone safely at Plovdiv.
