re: transfers to bansko from sofia

Just returned to UK from Bansko and used a firm called Mitch & Co based in Sofia. Excellent service, met at the airport and on time for return. Cost 12 euro for return trip.

All transfers now are in the area, 60-70 Euro eachway for a small party, and increasing as the party grows...
You takes your choice, and im not here to deride other firms as all will provide a service...
One thing to consider though, we have a tax rise pending that will add 10st per litre, that is going to put the average cost of fuel here to over 2lv a litre. That is an increase over the summer of nearly 40st which represents over a 20% increase..
Also increased insurance costs, and ...

Also increased insurance costs, and extra legislation (thanks EU) has added to the impending price rises in transfers. We are attempting to maintain our prices but are feeling the pressure, Mitch must be under the same pressure as others will be to.
We all accept competition, but there has to be a cut-off at which price (which is always important) becomes detrimental to service. In order to provide safe, reliable, worry free transport, it has to be viable for the operator, if corners are being cut in maintenance, insurance, wages etc to maintain profit margins, then that is at the cost of the passenger... We and our partner companies will not do that...

There's one company online who is offering a one way transfer for only 12 euros. Best to avoid??

Very likey Bansko Express, not for me to say, but their economics are the same as ours, if they can fill the bus then they make money..

I am also working in the business with transfers and car - rentals, and I totally agree with Steve. Safety should always come first!

Tina H, 12 euros is possible - i guess that price is per person and is for a shared transfer with a larger minibus /shuttle service - you share with other people from the same flight, but sometimes may have to wait for others as well, so that the minibus fills up/
