Can anyone tell me what the journey is like into the mountains via Crystal holidays. I am a little nervous to say the least, do I need to get well drunk before boarding the bus??

According to a thread a few pages back- it's some rickety old coach- with the driver letting people overtake while going up the hill, but hurtling round the corners on the way back down in blizzard-like conditions....Spare pair of pants in the handluggage methinks...
Hey- anyone know who the flights are with (i.e. decent airline??)

A drop of the hard stuff I think, with blindfolds and a personal stereo, might help me, any excuse for a drink.When do you plan to travel??

The Sunday flights for Crystal are on Britannia - they're not bad, I flew with them to Spain in the summer. The plane was better than the hotel I stayed in!!!
All the different tour operators will use different coaches - some have minibuses, some coaches. It all depends on what you've booked.
As long as they don't take lessons from the Greeks. I'm used to hurtling around in a speeding car occasionally (legitimate reason) but the Greek coach drivers scared me witless - it was so ...

We're out on the 10th (Saturday)- 6 of us... First time outside western europe, so making sure I'm fully prepared!! Seems to be a mixed bag of reviews...Hey that Mike F bloke on this site is a bit highly strung isn't he...

Won't put me off enjoying myself, how about you, did you say this was your first time, this is ours, my husband and sons are like the family on the disneyland advert on tv, nobody is sleeping in our house at the moment.Have a wonderful time

My first experience of travelling in the mountains was in Greece 15 years ago, I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it.The trip was on the way back to the airport and after the many hairraising manouvers he pulled into the petrol station and fill the coach up with a fag with a mile of ash hanging on it. But I'm here to tell the tale.

The transfers are comfortable and safe. I have made the trip 13 times and have yet to fall in any ravines. If your trip is in daylight, you will be able to follow the fresh water river that cascades down from the mountains all the way from Pamporovo to Plovdiv. The road is windy as all mountain accents are, and after the 200th turn you may start to get a little bored when HEY PRESTO your'e in Pamporovo. Translated it means a dammed ...

There is no stop on route from Plovdiv so make sure you have a pee at the airport and have ample suplies on board. Trip will take aprox. 90 mins.

Cheers Pete, do you know what the trip from Sofia to Borovets is like. If I enjoy it here, you never know I might venture further up the big hill!On another note are there any trips etc that come between Borovets and Pamps

Not been to Borovets Lozza, but I believe the trip is very simular.It is possible to get to Pamps from Borovets but you would not want to do it if you are only there for a week.
I will only start a row if I say Pamps is better, it's all a matter of choice.........but I do LOOOOOOOOOVE Pamporovo.
