By the way I just remembered that they built a nice apart-hotel complex (similar to the ones in Pamporovo and Bansko) at the bottom station of the Simeonovo-Aleko gondola, so actually you can lodge there as well....

lynda , don't cut off yer nose despite yer face . I know airlingus are flying from dublin now , but check out operator . We were the same as you , and didnt want to do the operator thing but it was way cheaper , 550 euro a head in bansko , 4 star hotel , pass , skis , lessons all included . This was last year so may have gon up a bit.

yeah there are some cheap deals but the problem is that i have to go in the mid term break in february and the bloody operators i looked at increase their prices by 200-300 for that week

ye, thats true , you could also check out transfers from sofia , theres lots of people that do it , and book cheap hotel youre self .If you want to ski go to one of the better resorts.
