Have a great time

Usually you will have a welcome meeting followed by lift passes and the mad rush for kit. Then you will begin the lessons. All on day one i thinks.

you will have a great time just be patient on the first day after that you just pick your skis up and meet the rest of the class.

You'll meet your rep at 8.30 then go on the coach to the ski depot. Your rep will give you vouchers - some of them you hand in at the depot for your euipment, others are to give to your instructor when one is allocated.

Once you have your skis, you have to queue at a small hut to one side of the depot to pick up your ski pass - you need a 6 lev deposit for this, but no pic as it's a plastic swipe card.

At this point, they ask if you've skiied before. If you haven't, it's off to the ...

Once you have your skis, you have to queue at a small hut to one side of the depot to pick up your ski pass - you need a 6 lev deposit for this, but no pic as it's a plastic swipe card.

At this point, they ask if you've skiied before. If you haven't, it's off to the nursery slopes. If you have, they'll send you off in quite a big group with an instructor. You do the long green run a couple of times, then everyone meets at the Lodge at the top for lunch.

After lunch, everyone lines up to perform a short 'test'. This takes ages because it's one person at a time! You're then grouped according to ability (although they do let you move down a group to be with your family/friends if you want to). You're allocated your instructor for the week and there's usually time for another couple of runs before the end of the session.

You meet your instructor at an agreed time between nine and ten, then ski all morning with breaks for drinks and lunch. The afternoon session usually finishes around 3.15, although some instructors will go on longer. After that, you can go off and do some stuff on your own if you want - the last ski bus doesn't leave the slopes till 5.15.

You don't HAVE to stay with the instructor - they're quite happy for you to do your own thing, so long as you let them know so they're not hanging about waiting for you. We had a late flight back on the Saturday and arranged lift passes and equipment hire so we could have an extra day on the slopes by ourselves, which was brilliant.

Blimey not much to add except for try and go with the flow on the first day as the morning can involve a lot of hanging around, but that will be the worst of it. Enjoy. Very Happy
