I can only tell you what it was like last year January. We have a thermometer in our garden and checking the temperature was a daily issue with me, lol. Ok, early morning i was reporting temperatures of minus 20 to minus 22. Obviously it warms up during the day when the sun comes but on some days at the top station the wind chill was minus 26. Obviously, when the sun goes down the temperature drops again and up in Borovets, it is very very cold. If you are wrapped up well ...

If you are wrapped up well you'll be fine because ALL of the bars and restaurants are cosy and warm. I was talking to a Bulgarian friend of mine today who said that this winter was going to be colder than last winter, but ... who knows. That said, i went out today for the first time since the snow fell on Saturday and after ten minutes my hands and feet were frozen solid !!! Time to come home to the log fire and a glass of wine !!

Thanks Steff!I was in Andorra last year and I was skiing in a t-shirt during the day as it was so warm...looks like i will need to pack me thermals this year though!
