where is the best place to learn skiing?

I had my first time skiing at Borovets, I learned snow plough. If I want to learn the next level sth like parallel turn, which place in bulgaria will be the best? Will it still be Borovets?

I believe Pamporovo is a better place for learning. Having said that I did most of my learning on a dry slope in the uk.

No one recommend Borovets? I don't quite like Pamps because its snow condition hasn't got as stable as Borovets and most of its hotels are located away from the resort centre.

Hi Calvin
Depends when you're planning to go. We came back from Pamps yesterday and the snow conditions were excellent. We go the same week every year and snow has always been good.
Some of the hotels are located outside the resort - but most of them are not. We stayed in the Snezhenka, which is in the resort centre and is first stop for the ski buses.

Pamps is lovely for learners because it has some nice wide, gentle slopes that are great for practising turns. The first time we went, we'd learnt the absolute basics at a UK snowdome. By the end of that first week we'd learnt parellel turns and had progressed to blues and easier reds.
Two new slopes have opened this year - long, wide, red/blue - perfect for intermediates.

re: where is the best place to learn skiing?

Will there be restaurants in the resort like Borovets? Does everyone has to travel on ski bus from hotels in Pamps? Would it be inconvenient to travel on ski bus? How long does the transfer from Sofia take?

re: where is the best place to learn skiing?

There are plenty of places to eat - both in resort and on the mountain. The ski buses are the best way to access the slopes. They run every 15 minutes to the main ski area and are free. The ones from the centre of resort go round and pick up people from several hotels. The hotels away from the resort centre each have their own ski minibuses.
Not sure about Sofia transfer - we travelled to Plovdiv

Fiona, You are based at Borovets, will you be bias?
Sometimes i found boro hasn't got wide, long and less steep run for practising..However, I like the environment in boro, many restaurants, nice natural scene on top of mountain...
