Been there a few years on the trot. Sadly the resort is a victim of it's own success. Too many building projects going on, hundreds of visitors and only 1 gondala. During peak times queue's are back beyond The Happy End and down into the building sites. This is now no longer a holiday but a cattle market. The queue jumpers make it a misery for those waiting. Once up on the mountains the skiing is good. Now booked for Canada in December. Will I go back?...Yes but only when the new gondala is ...

NO, they have started to rip off tourists, but if you do, fly WIZZ air from Luton, book your accomadation yourself on line, and agree a taxi fair before you set off. Pay 150 Lev (75 euro) MAX from SOF to Bansko (best to pre-order ). or stay in a Sofia hotel overnight and travel to Bansko by bus, (12 to 14 Lev each) go to for time table http://www.centralnaavtogara.bg/cbs/home.nsf/0/180B977DAB3A6D38C2256ECE00336DA4?OpenDocument Taxi from SOF to Sofia city hotels pay 10 to 12 Lev, agree ...

Not a chance!!!Borovets was a dirty shithole and locals often did their best to rip you off. My ski instructor from Borovets ski school was a pompous arrogant soul who tended to forget that this was our holiday, not boot camp.

Ian where is the airport tfr 75 Euro Max Sofia Airport to Bansko? I searched round and found that for 4 adults the cheapest was £109 return.Or do you mean 75 Euro each way?
