Doni, it does exist as does a chicken sword and dare I say it, a pork spindle and chicken and pork skewers. None of which should be confused with a kebab.
if you get a chance THE OLD HOUSE in samokov is a must. the food is fantastic and its very cheap. the ducks heats are amazing and don't even get me started on the chickens livers. no trip to boro is complete with out a meal in there.
Thanks for the suggestions on Samokov town, I definitely will visit the town and try some of the restaurants mentioned.
Has anyone got the bus to town? I think I read it was 2 leva one way, last bus something like 7.30pm outside the Samokov hotel pickup?
How much is a taxi back to resort and is it ok to pick up a taxi in town or pre-arrange? Is there a local taxi number anyone can share to arrange taxis at decent price, rather than squabble with the taxi drivers in the ranks?

Do Balkan-PMS do local taxi runs as well as airport transfers?
The restaurants that I have mentioned will book you a cab if you ask and they will be safe. Expect it to cost 15 lev to Borovets approx £6.80 although if it's late it may cost you 20 lev.
