Boro/Samokov Food - Indian / Chinese?

Has any one got any recommendations for good grub curry / chinese meals in Borovets or nearby Samokov?

If no Indian or Chinese restaurant, I guess some restaurants will have it on their menu?

Just looking for an alternative to the Kebab booths hehe , healthy eating/drinking is obviously for home

Cheers

You're in Bulgaria - not Peking or Delhi. Razz

The Bulgarian food is delicious - so widen your horizons and explore Wink

PP,

oh I'm all up for that honestly I eat most things bring on the Mish Mash,Kavarma, shopska

I hope the golden arches haven't arrived in Borovets? Now I didn't notice one of them last year thank god, now that would spoil things.

I'm up for all things local, including the local beer and spirits, cant understand who would want to pay more for imported stuff while in bulgaria...

cheers SPP

When I was last in the samokov the food was ok, warm as most places! But edible, and I'm a fussy eater,
We did get a curry house! Might be gone now! But to be honest it wasn't much cop!!! I'll stick to the liquid lunch, and dinner and supper and breakie,,

Sounds like plenty of choice. Last year I was half board so didn't eat out much. Am self catering this year so will be eating out mostly for a change. Had one meal out last year in hunters restaurant was very good but wanna try more this year. Cheers all

chinese is ok in samakov just have to watch what you order. its not china town but will suffice. dont order anything with a brown sauce! it was not so good but sweet and sour was fab. portions huge too. i believe its run by an english guy with an authentic chinese chef. its near the castle hotel. turn right before billa and keep going till you can go no further and its on that road.
also try the tapas bar across from billa and Bonitos italian/pizza is great. best though are the old house ...

Samokov chinese restaurant was great in the summer.

We ate there a few times and even had them bring a takeaway to Gerry and Sandra's house. Everything we had was spot on!!!

I have it on good authority thyat the Chinese in Borovets is far too salty. I don't know if you are staying in Boro or Samokov town but for huge portions you should go to Samokov town and go to Target or The Old House. There is another one close to Target but it's name escapes me but it's on Bulgaria Boulevard and . Choose something like a pork or Chicken sword and something called a sac and you'll be getting portions for at least two for about £6. Of course you need to order sides on top. ...

There are good places in Borovets like Bobby's and they will look after you there if you mention the website. Mamacitas (Mexican) is also quite nice but the prices in Borovets are more than in Samokov. If I remember what the other one is called I'll post it up and if you are a veggie just ignore me
