Every day, without fail we are asked about lift pass prices.
The facts are this.......
Lift pass prices are set at the beginning of the season, for each resort. The standard prices will vairy from resort to resort so I am not going to troll through all the costings.

When you buy a lift pass as part of your ski package through a travel agency or on line, you will be offered a lower price than if you book it in the resort. That is because agencies buy in bulk and negotiate a lower rate which in turn is passed on to us, the customers.
If an agency buys 500 holidays for the season for example, they will also buy 500 passes to supply to their customers. You will struggle buy them seperately from a travel agency, and very seldom can you buy them from an agency after you have booked and confirmed your holiday.
In general, buying a lift pass on your arrival in resort will be much more expensive, because you will pay the full standard going rate. This is not a 'rip off' but the standard rate. You do not need a photograph to attach to your pass, but you do need to take good care of it because if you lose it, you will have to pay the full rate to replace it.
Further to this clarification, I booked and confirmed my holiday 3 months ago but have just rung up and bought my lift pass through my tour operator, so I guess that may vary between tour operators.
Whilst you may have to pay more for the pass in the resort, if you travel independently and book your own flights etc. the savings you make far outweigh the additional cost of the lift pass. Mal
a slight addendum to PP'S Message, as we buy a quantitiy of passes, we have to give an indication of how many we need at the start of the season, if we need a few extras its at least two weeks notice this year, however you may find that your travel agents/tour operators have some spare allocation, but its very unlikely. Badger Queen when are you actually going?
Yes, there are the odd ocassions when someone has booked to go to the resort and not booked a pass which can free one up, but it is a bit of a gamble and not really worth the risk.
