re: Boro, do I cancel and switch to Bansko / Pamps

Some may not agree but I think boro is poor for beginers

Took my 2 young ones there last year and found the nursary slopes lacking

One outside the rila is ok but it was to busy so the beginers runs down was really limted because of the amount of people they got such a small run down there "milage" was very small

We have skiied many resorts for the last 20 years and sorry to say boro is not good for the starter skiers

Thought boro was a nice surprise after all the horror forum ...

Thought boro was a nice surprise after all the horror forum reports we read but personally I would not reccomend boro as a good beginers resort

Hope you have a good hol where ever you go

re: Boro, do I cancel and switch to Bansko / Pamps

Thanks Spice,

Both of the kids have been twice before so are fine on greens and blues, so the nursery isn't something they need. I am just worried that only reds are open at the moment... Hopefully this will change, but if not, I'll just have to go elsewhere at the last minute!

Regards,
Chris.

re: Boro, do I cancel and switch to Bansko / Pamps

the minimum transfer time from Sofia to Pamporovo is 3 hours and that is assuming no snow or bad traffic. Realistically you should allow 4 hours. Realistically transfers to Bansko are 2.5 hours and Borovets is 1.5 hours. these can be quicker if there is no snow and traffic is ok. Borovets to the airport can be done in just less than an hour but the experience would be a little hair-raising

re: Boro, do I cancel and switch to Bansko / Pamps

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I will keep my fingers crossed that snow arrives before the 30th in Boro. If not, and Pamps has snow, I think I will book an apartment / hotel there a few days before I fly out to Sofia. From what I've seen it looks quite easy access and child friendly.

Chris.
