Hi all,
6 of us, 2 kids, 4 adults are coming out to Boro on the 30th of Jan and are worried about the current lack of snow. The adults would be fine with the reds that are open, but the kids are strictly green / blue at the moment and by looks of it, that means the one nursery at the Rila at the moment :-(
I'm thinking of cancelling my apartment in Boro and booking an apartment in Bansko or Pamps as it seems they have better snow and more chance of us all skiing.
Does anyone know ...

Does anyone know how far away Boro is in terms of snow fall from opening fully? If it is still grass and rocks, I guess I should look a another resort.
With that in mind, what's the best way to get to Pamps / Bansko from Sofia?

Pamps is much further from Sofia than Bansko, Bansko is approx 2.5 hours transfer although last week coming back we did it in 2. Bansko is higher and has better snow than Pamps at the moment.Also it is a large town wich Pamps is not so more to do.Plenty Of transfer companies to Bansko our own Steve C offers an excellent service.

Thanks Daniel. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Boro and look at a last minute switch a few days before the 30th if things haven't improved. How far is Pamps, in hours, from Sofia?Regards,

I too am going out on 30th and am crossing fngers for more snow. This link shows several videos taken yesterday which I think look very promising. More snow is needed but this can't be too far off.
Not an expert but from what I've seen elsewhere on this board, companies want to charge to tx holday, plus condiitions haven't been brilliant elsewehere in BG.
The link certainly made me feel more positive - cross fingers for more snow.
