1st timer in Bansko

This is my 1st skiing holiday anywhere but i'm going to bansko end of march. Anyone whos been before know things like food/drink prices in restaurants etc (heard its well cheap!) and any other useful info. Probably about to book Snowplough Apartments. Also i presume its best to book hire/lift pass before you go
Cheers, see you there if anyone going then

re: 1st timer in Bansko

Yeah book lift pass/lessons/kit hire before you go.

Half litre bottle of beer ranges from 1 to 2 lev (35p-70p)
meals £3 to £4

You won't spend much mate

re: 1st timer in Bansko

Hi Lewis, we have booked to go to bansko for the 1st time on 25 Feb 06 and booked flights and then hotel seperately via internet. Now need to book ski hire, lift pass and tuition really before we go, but does anyone know if any of the tour operators will let you pre book with them if you have not booked your holiday through them?? Or is there anywhere that you can pre book this before you go? I have heard that booking in UK tends to be a bit cheaper, is that correct?

We are so excited, ...

re: 1st timer in Bansko

Think you will struggle to book your ski pack from here other than with an operator you have booked your hols with.

I think the price doubles in resort (roughly)

On the plus side, I think you will love Bansko (my third year)
Booze

Just stayed in Snowplough over new year's. Nice clean, new appartments. The only thing was that we booked a 2 bedroom apt for 4 people and one of the bedrooms was actually a double bed in the sitting room/kitchen. But shouldn't be a problem if there's only 2 of you going! Enjoy!

We're staying at Avalon Hotel, smaller hotel but looks really good, run by a very nice English guy and his bulgarian wife. Have you already got skis and passes?
