2008 help please

hi peoplewe went to bansko last year and been to boro for the 3 years before that, we are looking to book for the end of jan 2009 for boro, can anybody recomend a tour operater that is good vaule and good while in the resort, also could people please say wether the would go to the samokov or the rila?

Why do you need a tour operator that is good in resort? They are all much of a muchness I am sure that someone will say that such a tour operator was brilliant and someone else will say they where crap.Just find the right deal for you and book better still do a DIY plenty of flights into Sofia and ski hire and transfers and hotels can be booked with this site or oher forum members will let you know of good deals for DIYing it.

Dan, that's not great advice. Many people have good reasons to want a decent resort rep. Whether it be for health reasons, childcare, or goodness knows what else.To answer the question, the best resort reps I have met in Pamporovo have been the Crystal reps. Helpful, prompt at meetings and good fun too.

Yes and for every tour operator that you say is good someone else will say they are rubbish that was my point.
Looked again at the post and cannot see anywhere that childcare is mentioned or anything else. As for health reasons??? What difference does it make if you have health reasons whether you book independent or with a tour op?
My advice still stands Carl ask around on here for best Hotels etc or if you are worried about childcare or you have "Health reasons" plenty of good ...

Just to say I have been with Balkan and Inghams and never had a problem with either of them but there again I did not need them to arrange my nights out nor do I need to turn up to the "Welcome meeting"

The point is -- a genuine question was asked, and it is not unreasonable to expect a person to be concerned when in a foreign country for the first time without knowing anybody, and it's always reasuring to know that there is a friendly tour guide/rep that can help you should you require it for whatever reason they may have.

guys many thanks for your comments, i was asking as while i was in bansko last year the rep was allfull!! not helpfull at all, and then give us duff info for the flight home wich was 28 hours late!! and he was with neilsonany advise on hotles would be great, and if anyone has any good advice on how to DIY it, it would be great

Try Wizzair from Luton to Sofia, Easyjet from Gatwick or Manchester for flights. Avoid school hols to keep prices daon and try for mid week for bargains.Car hire on here of try Sikongroup who i use on all my trips to BG. Faultless service and cheap as chips to boot.
You could try Fraser who frequents this sight quite often for lodgings and i think PP will confirm that the hospitality was excellent. Or again try this site for accomodation.

Fraser has a catered chalet almost opposite the gondola that sleeps 10 and its fabulous. Food cooked to your liking by the maid and very comfortable.Pete

Carl, Fraser is your man for all things Borovets though you may well struggle to book his place for next season as I believe he is already quite full. But he does come highly recomended. God is he reads this his head will have swollen.
I have nothing against the tour op route and indeed sometimes that is the better option for people just wanted to give you other options. Hopefully Fraser will pick up this post and help.
