I'm ogranising a weeks skiing in Jan 2010 there will be about seven 30 year olds going, the main factor will the the price of the trip inc lift pass, Hire & lessons.
I was thinking of Borovets as I think this would be the best resort for 7 guys to go to and also I still see BG as good value even if prices have risen.
What other resorts would you suggest even outside of BG price being the main factor here.
Not sure you'd get anything cheaper than Bulgaria. If you did, you'd probably be like sardines in a tin in a tiny apartment. Having said that...you're not going to be spending much time in there. You mention lessons...are you total beginners, a mixed bag, or reasonable skiers? You want to make sure the resort suits your ability, not just your pocket. An idea of how much you expect to pay might be useful too...one person's expensive is another's cheap.
Why do you say that, I only speak as I find, I know the snow may not be very good and that the price of a pint has risen but then if I wanted better Conditions/Slopes I would be paying £800 somewhere else. I like BG even when the snow was rubbish I still had a good time. We are on a budget of £500 and you get what you pay for. If I had no intension of going back to BG then I would'nt post here.
We went in January last season and had great snow and skiing conditions, this January wasn't as good. The first week in January is also school holidays for some of the Eastern European countries, so can be busy.
You should be able to go to somewhere like Pila in Italy for around that amount. You can get a learn to ski week all inclusive with a company such as Interski for about £600 all inclusive.
Tony, Fair enough. I would say though in the past when I've booked late I've been able to find non-BG deals within £150 north of a BG deal the same week.
