28th Jan flight BY675A from Manchester

Is there anyone else travelling to Sofia on this flight?

We have an issue with baggae allowance for the trip... Having booked through Thomson Holidays, we have been advised that our luggage allowance for the flight is 15 kg for hold luggage (I'm finding it really hard to get down to this weight, what with Ski Boots, salopettes, jacket etc). I've never been on a ski flight with such a low allowance, and having checked with the airline have been advised that the allowance is 20kg (the ...

I've never been on a ski flight with such a low allowance, and having checked with the airline have been advised that the allowance is 20kg (the airline is Thomson Fly - different from Thomson Holidays).

If any of you are on this flight, can you see what baggage allowance you have been allocated?

The excess that I have been quoted has been £50 - so I am a little concerened about going over the 15 kg.

Many thanks for your help

Stephen

Are you sure about the carrier I thought it was Brittania or are they all the same. Some else further down on the message board has the same problem. I know I wear as bulk as possible, jackets, snow boots etc..

Thanks John

We have booked ski carriage as well, so the skis will be OK.

I'm debating wether or not to go for the 20 kg allowance... £50 excess is a lot of drinking money !!!

Anyone else know what their allowance is?

Sneeky idea!

Put anything heavy such as deoderant toilteries hair dryer (some people take them) in with your skis thats what we did when we went to Saas fee!!!

You'll save KG's!!!!!

We're flying from M/cr on the 28th (not sure what flight no. ) at 4 pm and ours is 20kg. Plus if you've paid for ski carriage aswell you get another 20kg available in your ski bag! Good luck!

Don't worry about the 15kg limit, I flew by Thomson and took out 23kg without penalty. They won't take bags over 32 kg but you'd do well to make that amount!

re: 28th Jan flight BY675A from Manchester

When an airline says 20kg limit they usually mean that it is 15kg for bulk luggage + 5kg hand luggage.

I also thought that when you book the ski carraige this includes your ski boots and ski's? So the ski boots should'nt be added to the weight of your normal luggage.

As triv said as long as you are not too much over weight they usually don't charge you extra.
