This allowance is for 15 kg hold luggage, and 5 kg hand luggage. Normally it is 20 kg + 5 kg.

Carriage of boots is not included with the skiis... people do, but you are not covered for this. The £15 pounds you pay works a little like an insurance policy. If the airline fails to transport your skis, or looses them, they will cover the cost of hiring in resort. They would not cover the cost of boots.

I have always packed boots in with my other stuff - especially as they will not fit in my ski bag.

did you book your holiday as a late deal? often find that they give you less luggage allowance with late deals, most tour opperators allow 20kg and 5kg hand luggage, they dont usually weigh hand luggage although not always guarenteed so you can some times get some weight in there eg shower gel ect also don't always include your skis in the allowance. i would check with the airline as for the advice on being able to get up 32 kg for the allowance i wouldnt chance it i know your bag can't weigh more than 32kg so if two of you had 40kg needs to be in two cases but have always been charged if over, also check with travel agent to see if you can pay for an extra allowance usually can get between 5 and 10kg for about £25 return which is cheaper than about £10 a kg.

one thing about going to 20kgs if it was a late deal will flash up as this is one way of getting extra money from you, we were over when we went to jamica and were allowed to remove things from the case and put them in our hand luggage, which they never weighed if they had we would have been srewed as this had all the sun lotion in as well, so it was already pretty heavy we almost had to ask for a trolley to get it to the plane, how many of you are going if your 5kg over could divide it into your hand luggage rather than pay, this could depend on the person checking you in though as might want to weigh it worth a chance if you cant get it down to 15kg

have just looked in the thomson book that our tickets were in when we went does say 15kg hold and 5kg hand luggage although it dosnt say that this has to include you ski boots and skis. i though we had 20kg plus 5 when i went this must have changed or be for ski holidays. have you called them to see if the 15kg is including your skis as the book seems to indicate that these are not included the info is on page 20 might be worth having a good read there is a phone number you can call as well. may be we have all been wrong and if we checked our tickets would have found we all only had 15kg of hold luggage. I can't remeber what mine weighed when I checked it in I know it was under 20 but iam sure it was 16kg never got charged though but didnt have any skis!
