As confirmed by the 2 chief share holders in Bansko.
I can confirm that construction of Bansko's 2nd gondola will commence at the end of the forthcoming winter season.
It will run parallell to the current gondola and terminate in the same location.
It will take a different route, and the mid station will be lower, than the current one. At the midstation they will construct a ski area for beginners, to relieve the pressure at the top of the current one.
yes but the beginners already have a ski area albeit busy for themselves. Its the rest of the mountain that get s clogged upa t peak periods. Granted the 2nd gondola will relieve the queues at the beginning and end of the day but this won't improve the skiing for intermediate and above on the mountain. It sounds like alot of money being invested without a long term goal in sight.

I don't think that the information is accurate it wouldn't make sense. Sorry.
Interesting! Hmm - I thought if they put another gondola in that it would may be go to a different area (may be a new ski area?) and not the same place. Does seem a little daft to have 2 running alongside? I quite agree with what Dave says. All very well doubling the capacity of shifting folk up the mountain but then what..... with the amount of property going up in Bansko it has been getting busier and busier. To increase the capacity to get people on the mountain is great but I really ...

To increase the capacity to get people on the mountain is great but I really hope I don't find myself then standing in mega long queues as a result once this is in place. There must be forethought as to the outcome of such installation surely? Time will tell I guess.
i don't think it will shorten the ski season for begginer because they will probebly just cover it with snow machines like they have with the rest of the mountain
