And yes they do have to put news on the front page to keep peoples interest in BG before certain people start(you know who you are )!!!!!

We know for a fact the bike park is opening on 30th June as we are very friendly with the people who are setting it up and building the trails as we speak!! They will also be managing and running the bike park. These are very good, young, enthusiastic poeple who have experience and have their own company who in running national events in BG. They also are riders which makes a big difference as they know what is good and what isn't. I would not be surprised if the National Open DH Cup and maybe XC cup will be held here this year as dates are still not released for this.

Chepelare will run their chairs apparently this summer too as they have trails built last year for MTB also again made by these guys .

Mtb in Bulgaria is becoming very very big with the young and elder riders and it is also attracting many big events. First week of May saw Shambhala Open Cup with UCI 1 status in the mountain biking world. This attracted many riders from other countries as they can earn points for the World Cup in downhill. Also Borovets again get UCI 2 for their open cup this weekend. I know at least 15 very good uk riders who will be entering this. Some of these guys are racing in the World DH Cup events.

Just wish Bansko would take note!! We will give a report on the Bike Park as we will be over their the first week of opening with 13 riders from the UK out here on holiday with us for one of the guys stag do.... gonna be messy I think!!

Speaking with Sasho Iliev this weekend, who is responsible for the course building and design in Pamps, informed me that the operators have invested 40,000E in mountainbikes, from cross country versions to full-on downhill bikes. Helmets and safety wear will also be available. We are hopeful that the website will be user friendly as theirs was in Borovets, and that accommadation and bike hire can be reserved on-line, we will update as we know ourselves... Obviously we hire bikes, but a long way to come for a bike Personally we are just excited at the prospect of another winter resort finally seeing the potential of mtb in the summer, and i cannot wait to get over there in a couple of weeks to blast the trails

As soon as they have set up their website and FB page I will send details. I can also send you email of Ema and Danny who are the managers of the park if their pages are not ready in time. I will be speaking to them again at the weekend as it is the Borovets DH Open Cup which Im entering and they are the event managers. I have to speak to them anyway about our guys n stuff so will see if anymore info.
What week you here in July as we will be over there there the first and second week at some point?

Was that figure on a tourist website which is booking on line packages extras etc?
I must rush straight away and click the button RENT.
I waited so long to appear something about Pamporovo here after the multi milions investments in the other 2 were plastered on this forum.
Finally people from Pamporovo will relax .
Now if I go to Pamporovo and hire from Bansko as the newsmaker (or shall I say the family of newsmakers)state. just joking , I actually fancy bringing my bike all the way from UK.

It actually says 40 thousand euro not millions. And we were told this from the guys who are managing the park at the weekend when riding with them over in Borovets and actually arranged which bikes they would purchase.

These are very high specification bikes from XC - Freeride - DH bikes.

The tandem has been banned!!!

Julie, Im not sure if they have kiddie seats but will enquire for you. How old are the children as these trails can be quite bumpy for youngsters(we know as we have one we used for our 3year old). Great on paths and road but not so good off road with brain shake!!

I understand they will be setting up some sort of creche facility like in Borovets also. As I said we will have more news very soon and as soon as I get there website details I will post.

I am starting to think you should get a network connection and a laptop Mikey, as i and Nightmuffy have, your Blackberry is becoming difficult to read and you are missing some points...
1) we do not expect to hire bikes to Pamporovo or in fact benefit very much at all financially from this news.
2) the park is being organised by young Bulgarian management, employing Bulgarians, and benefitting young Bulgarian riders of whom we know many, and visitors. This in turn will have a knock-on effect for businesses in and around Pamporovo
3) the machines purchased are from the largest Bulgarian manufacturer, the most popular brand, their factory in Sofia employing Bulgarian workers.
4) the reason we have passed on this news is because there is great interest in Pamporovo on this forum, and this seemed a positive note for a change.
5) and finally, we are passionate bike riders, and just for our own enjoyment will visit this park.....
