Hope you can help us!!! It's our 1st Ski holiday on 6th Feb 2010 and we are going over and staying in Hotel Rila.
Could anyone let us know what its like for beginners on the slopes and what else is there to do (or can be done) I've got a funny feeling after 3 days my legs will hurt and I may need a day off!
We thought we'd need something else to do, but you get so involved in the skiing and then talking about it afterwards we didn;t have time for anything else.
Good luck, we are staying at the Samokov for the 4th time on 6th Feb and this time taking my step children with us, well teenagers, for their first ski holiday...
The massage at Samakov hotel (just down the road from the Rila) is reasonably priced and very good. We also hire out the jacuzzi for a relax as well
You will fine-but try to attend all ski lessons as you will get left behind if you miss a day-it also good fun with a group-I skied in Borevets for the first time when I was 46 and am still addicted at 68 although tend to go to France etc now as the pistes etc are looked after however first timers and lower intermediates get good ski school deals in Bulgaria and ski school was excellent there-if you achieve reasonable technique it will stand you in good stead for the future .I came to the ...

Me and my friend are also flying out on the 6th Feb for the first time and are struggling with the 'what to wear apres-ski'. We've decided on jeans and a top, ski jacket and snow boots (which will be replaced by heels when we get to the pub!).
My understanding is that after ski-school everyone has a few drinks then it's back to the hotel for a shower and dinner then back to the pub again. I've heard the nightlife is very good.
I wouldn't ever consider taking heels it's moonboots all the way for me! (not that I would be able to fit any heels into the luggage) Night time dress is very casual - jeans, t shirts, jumpers etc.
