A few of us fancy coming back to Borovets but only for long weekends skiing.
I've never seen ski packages like this so I wondering how easy it would be organise. I wouldn't have thought getting a flight would be a problem and likewise booking a room as this can all be organised direct.
I don't fancy hiring a car so I'm not sure about the transfer from the airport. Any thoughts? Would a taxi be too expensive?

Can anyone help with this one.

Also can you hire ski's for a few days and get a lift pass for a short period of time. If so where from?
It is real simple, if you find a good flight early inthe morning starting and late back home. You can use the buses from Sofia to Samokov(3 lev) is driving every half hour. And then the Minibus to Borovez(1lev). Ski passes are sol for 1, 3, 6 and 12 days.
I was told by a Bulgarian friend that it was not so safe to take the buses from Sofia to Samokov, but maybe that's because I'll be a female on my own. Is this true? What about the language barrier?
rob, if you get the days right and book early BA flight from heathrow will cost about £200 return, leaves about 8.30/9am. Personally id share a taxi, sort out the cost first with the 'drive' better than poncing about with the bus, no offence, but bo know what i mean?. Accomodation is a doddle either direct or via this site. (I say BA and not Balkan dear site because they fly to Sofia) and as sune said, passes are available for a variety of days
all the best

If you book your accommodation via this site then they would be able to organise your transfer and ski packages for you. This could save you lots as if you wait until you get there the ski passes alone will cost you double.
We booked directly with the Hotel Alpin last year as we wanted to know we had accommodation before B/ski could do it for us. We go in half term. If we had waited to book with them it would have been cheaper. Their prices are good.

We have used BA the last few years. The outgoing flight is about 7.30 and the homeward one middayish.
yes the best prices for liftpasses you can reach here, if it is as in the last years.
The taxi cost you around 50 to 60 pounds. Very expensive for BG. In Sofia you pay 0,40 lev per km and the driver charge you both ways this to Borovez and his one back. so 150 km and this will be only 60 lev not pound...
If you need some more help write me, a lot of the hotels have webpages...
