I wrote the report on Bansko when i returned last Saturday that was the cause of some discussion. Now one of the amusing things about writing articles to these sites is that you do not know who is writing them, their background if they travel often etc, etc.

Hi Pete
I wrote the report on Bansko when i returned last Saturday that was the cause of some discussion. Now one of the amusing things about writing articles to these sites is that you do not know who is writing them, their background if they travel often etc, etc.
I first went to Borovets 2 years ago with a group of nine people, we had a fantastic time and found everything about Bulgaria really nice. We enjoyed the tour of Sofia and took in as much info as possible about the Bulgarian lifestyle. We decided to go back to Bulgaria this year but thought we would try the new up and coming resort of Bansko. I am not going to repeat myself with all that i wrote but it does seem that people get a little over excited if anything negative is said. At the end of the day the tourists are putting a lot of money into the country so surely any comments should be looked at as constructive.
My report on Bansko wasn't that bad!
I am 38 yrs old, not a stupid kid. I am a professional women who has a very good job and i am very fortunate to be in a position to travel the world 3 to 4 time a year. I have been to some very poor countries and stayed in some very basic accomodation as well as some exclusive places. I have been to 33 different countries so would say i have a fairly comprehensive background when it comes to giving an honest report.
You said earlier today that the board was getting quiet and it appears that people are only interested in making comments just before they go and just after they return. Of course they are, lets get a bit real here, the only reason i am still on is because i can't believe the upset that my initial report caused.
I think the site is great and i logged on before my ski trip two years ago, but did not last year because i went else where.
Not everyones life revolves around a web site, thats why the site starts to go quiet around about now.
I will go back to Bulgaria one day, but not for a couple of years as i shall be skiing in Quebec, Canada in December and Then Lake Louise, Canada next February
Good luck with your reports i know that i picked up some points from you in the past.
You have my support ol boy, so many of these people who come out to Bulgaria with ridiculously unrealistic expectations feel that sites like these are some way to get back at the country or the operator or just to vent their anger when in fact they are making complete idiots of themselves. Many times have I laughed out loud at you dry replies to the banter posted here but for the first time felt the need to voice my opinion.
Keep up the good work mate.
Its true, Pete is very enthusiastic about BG - to the point of being blinded to other peoples experience. Its a great site with a lot of information about BG that enthuses others, but the occasional "negative" comment when true and backed up by fact as Julie's post was shouldn't just be ignored and put down to "whinging"
Can you imagine what it must have felt like in her situation at that point in time? It would definately have felt that ...
Jez, childish comments like that help no one.

Can you imagine what it must have felt like in her situation at that point in time? It would definately have felt that she and her group were being held to ransom by "Gangsters".
Have a little sympathy for those that don't see everything the way you do.
