Donners got held up by gangsters. I did not feel it was a childish comment, it was the fact that her tv didnt have sky movies or similar channels kind of wound me up a bit.i will try to be more constructive in the future, sorry ski bob

Oh dear guys see what happens Can opened worms everywhere!!! I have been posting on this site since xmas. Never thought I would do I was always under the impression that it made you a bit sad! But it just hooks you and I have made some new friends and enjoy the friendly banter. As I have said before perhaps some of us to get a bit worked up when we get negative comments but only because the tend to be designed like Donners to have that effect. I thought Julies report was balanced and she did ...

And having said that when people do post a negative but balanced report it annoys me when we get nasty comments back at them. Donner if you organised a school trip and this did happen then well I dont know what to say but I do not belive it did sorry. I shall continue to post because I like Bulgaria and I want to promote it and help others get the enjoyment out of it that I do. So can we now move on please?

Please explain Dave when I have ever 'bad mouthed' the tour operators in Bulgaria??????
I had a dig at Crystal (UK) for sending me 12 letters all with the wrong departure date, wrong airport, and then sent me the wrong tickets, plus an apology from the managing director comfirming the correct detail. (which were wrong AGAIN) based on that incompetance I feel I had the right to express my dissatisfaction.
But I have never once criticised Balkan or any other Bulgarian operators.

You are very fair in your comments. I have found your advice along with others most valuable, especially last year before we went for the first time to Sunny Beach.
I think our experience last summer was bad (in a nutshell for those who don't know us, my son Darren came off a quad bike suffering a fractured skull and broken wrist resulting in 7 days stay in Bourgas hospital which was dire.) This would have put most people off retuning to Bulgaria but we are booked ...

It was an experience being in the hospital but we met some wonderful Bulgarians who had nothing but still shared things with us (i.e. sweets, cigarettes etc) while in the hospital. There was a language problem but we managed. It made our trip to Bulgaria more rewarding (clouds & silver lining spring to mind) that we got to see the real Bulgaria as well as the touristy bits.
Our priority was Darrens well being at the time, not whether the hotel was up to standard or the food was edible. It certainly made us see the real things about the country.
Sorry, don't I go on a bit but just had to get it off my chest.

I returned from Bansko a week gone Saturday (1st visit to Bulgaria)
I will not comment at this moment in time of my experience as i would luv to hear your honest opinion on the different resorts as i wish to go back next.
Would you say Bansko is best resort for skiing? if not where,i appreciate this will be YOUR opinion.
I am 47 intermediate skier do not need night clubs,night life ...
