An inconvienient truth

Hi All, just viewed Al Gohr's movie an inconvienent truth, and boy if what he says is true, things do not look good for the future of snow skining. Given that the warmest 10 winters for the last 100 years have occured in the last 14 years, one can only wounder is this seasons poor snow is not a sign of things to come. Hope not...

Hi Roger, I desperately hope you are right, I would hate to have to find a new sport....I do not believe another could match the awesome fun of skiing

re: An inconvienient truth

We laugh and joke about the poor snow conditions but
I do wonder what the state of the world will be in the not to distant future, We seperate our plastic from our glass, our cardboard and paper. We are threatened with 'GREEN' taxes and rubbish collection when there is a full moon. Yet the Americans are building even more coal fired power station some produce more carbon dioxide emissions in 8 hours than a UK Powerplant produces in 6 months. But thats the yanks for ya, none of them can ski ...

re: An inconvienient truth

Totally agree with you sam. All this rubbish about CO2 poisoning the planet is a load of rubbish, the earth will always warm and cool.

I hate all this crap about the last ten months being the warmest ever, i mean records have only been around for the last 200-300 years but the planet as been here for 5billion years.

Its all just to get us to pay more taxes and thats it!!!

One last thing the greenland ice shelf is melting oh no what a trevesty, i dont think i can ever sleep again ...

One last thing the greenland ice shelf is melting oh no what a trevesty, i dont think i can ever sleep again with worry. Why is GREENland called GREENland? It might have something to do with the fact that when it was discovered it was a GREEN and lush land. Im sure the it will freeze and melt plenty more times over the next 5Billion years.

right ive had my rant. Happy skiing in manchester everyone!!!

re: An inconvienient truth

Cuz Sam and BBG, I agree that we are having our pants pulled down concerning the 'green' taxes and yes the planet does heat up and cool down (wheres the ice age when you want one) but it still worries me about the amount of crap that we pump into the air. Plus I need a reason to bash the yanks every now and again.

Mk snozone on Saturday, me and 5 other people on the slopes for an hour and a half....chuffing brilliant.

Is it winter yet???????? Mad

re: An inconvienient truth

Criticise the yanks for electricity consumption then state you are going to a giant fridge to ski!

Oh the irony Wink
