Have just heard there is a suspect bag at Tower Pier now and that police have cordoned off the area. So it goes on. Whitechapel all quiet again now. Have just returned from that area.Will have to wait until 5 for my glass of wine

If my memory serves me right there was a bomb in the Kusadasi area of Turkey at the end of the holiday season last year.
I think everyone is going to have very different opinions on what is the right or wrong approach to terrorism in this country. I personally will not be wanting to take the kids up to London at the moment. Unfortunately it is the tourist industry that will miss out. If us Brits aren't prepared to chance it I can't imagine the Yanks, Japanese and other tourists are ...

If my memory serves me right there was a bomb in the Kusadasi area of Turkey at the end of the holiday season last year.
I think everyone is going to have very different opinions on what is the right or wrong approach to terrorism in this country. I personally will not be wanting to take the kids up to London at the moment. Unfortunately it is the tourist industry that will miss out. I have just finished work today and won't need to go back for six whole weeks - bliss.......... Hnag on I can hear the kids about to kill each other already I may not make it!!

I love reading your reports and know you are a highly regarded poster on this site.... however.... I think that we are at risk of getting caught up in sensationalism and I'm worried about people that say they 'knew someone, who heard from someone, that thought they saw someone, that possibly was on the next train, or on the one 2 mins after'... do you get what I'm saying? We have to carry on as normal, not do anything different and assume that the politcians and security ...

I for one am amazed and feel secure at how quickly the Police can detact, picture and even name the potenial suspects. I am not taking away anything from anyone that has been truely affected, I am however very keen to keep things in perspective and hope that we all are kept safe.
For the record I don't like Blair or his Government, the issue is that he was voted in by a democracy, that is worth fighting for and in situations lke this where polictics is technically irrelevant, I have to trust our leaders.

I am intreagued to learn what made you post this subject on a skiing discussion board.
Whilst all around us are losing their minds, it's nice to be able to escape from the woes of life and fantasise a while about our favourite pastime ------ skiing and boarding.
Not to dwell on the crap that life has to offer at the moment, which is open to discussion on thousands of other discussion boards if it is that important to you.
Come on, lets get back to having a larf, and leave the dross ...
