re:Argument on whether to wear a helmet or not done and dusted
Glad I had mine on last week. I was riding down the ski road towards the top Gondola station in Bansko when all I heard was a series of 'F' words before my board was swept out from underneath me by another boarder. I cracked my head off the ice like a cannon ball, can still feel the lump now!

Hi Del Boy,
It is extremely unfortunate re. current snow conditions that's for sure!
However, as you know we all had a great time in Bobby's Bar & Indian that more than made up for the conditions.
A Big thanks to Kas, Bobby & their team. Well done guys!!

I survived for 30 odd years without a helmet, skiing a lot harder than i do now... I have now been wearing one for about 5 seasons, initially because i was guiding groups and recommended they wear helmets if possible, so not to wear one was not presenting a great example. I did find helmets a bit restricting, especially in being able to hear clearly what was coming up behind, but loved the fact that they kept your head warmer (never liked hats).. Considering the number of falls that occur, head injuries were a very very small number even before the wearing of helmets became fashionable, but it has to be said that even one person who is saved from brain damage etc has to be a good thing.... but definitely not enough to make it compulsory... Introducing this will be the start of a slippery slope of enforced safety measures, that will strangle the sport. Please let the individual make the decision, as with wearing helmets for mtb, we all know it makes sense, we do not need to be told
If i'm to think about banning anything, it would be the practice of skiing with music blaring in your ears... that is dangerous, completely taking away any awareness of skiers/boarders around you
