Because your email is being sent through webmail and the links on most websites automatically bring up the default email screen in Microsoft. I have had to take the links of all my webbsites as almost 50% of people, or maybe more, are now using webmail like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail etc.
Just use the copy and paste and by the way, you should clear your Temporary Internet Folder from time to time to keep you cache clear. That way you will always see the latest version of website pages ...

It is not as necessary to delete cookies as deleting the Temporary Files as the cookies are there to help you get back onto sites that you have previously visited. I know what you mean tho about the "link" problem but it was designed as previously nearly everyone had their computers set up for sending and receiving emails through Microsoft only.
You could have yours set up the same way by adding your POP3 btinternet account into Microsoft if you wanted to. Then, you would be able to ...
