BANSKO Hotels?

Just came back from a fantastic family ski holiday in Pamporovo and stayed in the Finlandia Hotel.
Family enjoyed it so much they want to go again but this time to Bansko. We have two kids under 6 who want to keep on with ski lessons. Can anybody give us the name of a good hotel as all the one`s I check out on "trip advisors"get realy bad reviews ie The Lion Hotel.
Want to be central this time as in Pamps we were to far out.

Gary - try Hotel Bansko (Balkan) and you are right to be cautious about the Lion Hotel. Was there last week, it is a disgrace, Yes the rooms are nice and big and warm. But the food and staff are terrible - indeed the staff are openingly rude and miserable. Our rep acknowledged she hears the same things time and time again.

Bansko skiing and old town are good, but the new town and the developments is letting down, what once I held with high admiration. We were there 2004 (March) and it was so much better, now it is over developed and lacks the life of 2004. Shame 'new Bansko' could not adopt some of the same charm as 'old Bansko'.

Try the Friendly Bar - food and drinks are decent at reasonable prices too.

Alternatively, we heard good things about Hotel Tanne, and Hotel Perun both close to Hotel Lion in 'New Bansko'.

Thanks for that info.Maybe Borovets is a better to take the family too?Pamps was fantastic but after three days you have skied every run so we need a change.
Like Bulgaria but getting the right hotel is hard for a young family.Travelled with Panorama and they were great at putting the kids into ski classes.

We stayed last year in the Perun. Found it clean & comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Food not bad, but best to get to meals early as some dishes were not topped-up. We had a family room which was a good size - sitting room with 2 deb settees and a seperate double bed room. Excellent pool, very good massage. We enjoyed our stay and would have returned but for deciding to go to Borovets.

just back from bansko too. We statyed in Dream apartments. They were nice but the food was bad. It's near the friendly bar so we spent alot of time there. Great food and a good atmosphere. I would def recommend Bansko. Will def be going back soon. Heard great things about the kempinski alright. A bit outta my budget though.

The kempinski is a little bit more expensive but worth every penny.Going to Bansko for our forth time and to be honest it is only because of this hotel, you wont get a better value 5 star anywhere else.

Why not try the inependence of an apartment. Great value for money and so much more space .
