BEST RATE FOR LEV IN UK ??

I know that it's better buying lev out in BG, but I want to get £50's worth of lev to go with just in case we get stranded at Sofia airport or any other emergancy, SO...where's the best deals for lev in the uk at the moment ?

Hi Mark,

there is really no need to bring Levs with you. That keeos you fees.

1. There is an exchange office at Sofia Airport. Follow the link

2. In case of emrgency (illness or wharever you want) you will need only GBP. Hospitals do not like Levs.

And if you take your nationwide current account you can take cash out at the airport ATM - you get commercial rates and no fees.

Even if you dont have that account (its free and a normal current account) use your HSBC etc to draw cash out at the ATM's.

I found the ex rate in the airport (not the ATM's) to be far worse than outside of the airport... well thats no different to any UK airport in that respect.

Today in resort 2.1levs to the pound in Rila or 2.7 to the pound on the booth on the street(borovets)

Hey Mark the exchange rate at Sofia Airport is Phoodar in other word S H 1 T

1.79lv to the £ when i was there last week

I waited til i got to resort to exchange was getting 2lv to the £

I would never use an airport exchange, you only need to look at the ones in the UK to see that they give you far worse rates than anywhere else, you are a captive audience....

Use the airport ATM when you get there, or take a walk down your local High Street before you go, there won't be much in it in the UK I would think, most plaxes will be roughly the same

Got a quote today in uk, 1.94 lev to the pound.

The cheapest place I've found is Tesco... 2.0067 lev to the pound.
If you order over £500 online delivery is free, or you can change it at some of the bigger stores.
Looks like ian wins!
