My own view (and yep, have been skiing in France too) is T has a fair point with guaranteed snow (i.e. glacial resorts) but my experience RIGHT NOW in Bulgaria is that the food is perfectly palatable with a wide range is you poke your nose around.
Cleanliness. I'll get straight to the point. French loos - need I say more? Today, at the Polyana / bansko - fresh loos cleaned every 1/2 hour, loads of loo paper, spotless and the door locks work!
