re: BOOTS

Yes i would go to Pembrey, they got a great service down there and trust me i tried them all,if they don't get em to fit in 3 go's then they give you your money back or a boot exchange..

Funny though coz the boots that fitted me the best came from coyoti ski in cowbridge, pembrey couldn't get them in time for me to go away.

I tried them all and pembrey's fitting service was by far the best, make sure you leave 2 or 3 hours for the fitting and heat moulding..

re: BOOTS

Thanks for all the advice I have booked a lesson in Pembrey nest week. Will check things out when there.

SP I have been to Coyoti in Cowbridge and Barry ski lodge but have never been told of one in Penarth?

Also CJ’s advice on a shop down the Gower I work in Swansea and no one seams to know of a ski shop down the Gower. However all positive feedback is for Pembrey so will let you all know how I get on next week.

Many thanks

re: BOOTS

There is one on the left hand side as you enter the gower area,it's also a surf shop..

Fitting is so important and the guy's down at pembrey will sort you out,i'm sure of it..

re: BOOTS

Yep...it is easy to find and plaenty of off road parking. They often have "older colours" or previous model colours in stock at a nice discount rate...akk brand new but around £50 to £100 off the price.

re: BOOTS

Carolyn,
How's that for positive feed back from the board. Very Happy

It must be the ski lodge in Barry which is close to Penarth. Well it's closer than where I live, New Quay Ceredigion.

re: BOOTS

Thanks to you all for the information. Found Mike Davies at Killay but only had one pair of boots that fitted comfortably, as this is my 1st ski tip I dont really know what they are supposed to feel like!!So will shop around and try some other makes. But will have to get my act together as only 25 day left.

re: BOOTS

Carolyn...I wouldn't worry too much as long as the pair fitted comfortably that is what you need. My wife had to try a number of pairs on to get one to fit right. Different makes produce different results...it really is down to the size and shape of your foot.

You need them to be tight enough so your foot doesn't really move and you cannot raise your heel...but not too tight that they are uncomfortable and your toes go to sleep.

re: BOOTS

Hi Carolyn,
try the boots on ( in the shop) for at least half an hour, if they fit and ( still) feel comfy., ( and also fit your budget ) buy them. Whear them ( as much as you can ) at home - so your feet get used to the shoes before you go. Your "problem " feet will have the best ski-holiday ever.
Use clean / dry socks every day.
Have fun
Nico
