BORO OR BANSKO

Visited Boro last year and had a thoroughly good time with wife and young son. Found the very bottom of the slopes near the main gondola very crowded at the early stages, with beginner classes. Would certainly go back to Bulgaria this year but deliberating Boro again or Bansko. Can anyone out there assist me in my quandary.

Many thanks Very Happy

Bansko does not have much for beginners? Utter, utter pish and tosh Mat. Bansko Is a perfect resort for 2nd weekers. How about the ski road for getting your confidence back? The wide and empty Chalin Valog slopes oh and the wide blues.
Geoffery if you fancy trying another resort Bansko will be fine for you and it is a town in its own right so you will get to see a bit of the real Bulgaria.

Many thanks you all for your responses; we are all experienced skiers so the resort should suit us. We look forward to another fantastic ski season and the chance to try a new place.

re: BORO OR BANSKO

Chain Valog consists of the steepest black in Bulgaria and a red not much less plus a ski road no thicker than a gnat's knob. There's the area for learners by the gondola and I suppose the ski road but both of these places you'll need to pole along. The only other place would be the small lift down to Shiligarnika - I'd put the rest of the mountain above beginner. But as they're not, it doesn't matter.

re: BORO OR BANSKO

Matt The Wall in Pamporovo is the steepest black in Bulgaria. Exclamation

re: BORO OR BANSKO

Nope. I've been on both and the Chain Valog one was bigger, steeper, longer and altogether more trouser filling.

re: BORO OR BANSKO

Razz i would dare to suggest that actually the steepest piece of black is the (im sorry the name has escaped me) run that finishes by the olymp hotel, not only is it near vertical, but most of the time its ice as well. Having been to Bansko, (cant compare the "wall' not been there) it doesnt equate. just my humble opinion. Actually i think the runs generally in Boro are a lot harder than Bansko, the yastrebets runs are all harder than the Tomba for example and theyre only reds Booze Booze
