Flight home tomorrow guys, I've really enjoyed my time here again for another year!! Kas us a lovely lady and I'm sure she is great at the Wii! Haha, apparantly her other half is going to perform a snow dance on the balcony naked!?!? Keep your eyes peeled!!

Fingers crossed for you guys, I really hope the temp drops and the runs open, like it has done for every year on record apart from now.

All the best, MattSki Booze

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

hi nige

to ski from the Yastrebets side to the rila side you can get in the gondola at mid station and go to the top of the gondola and ski down the musala pathway. otherwise you can go down yastrebets-1 run and about half way down there is a turning to the right which takes you back to the rila side. the last bit of the run back to the Rila side can be a bit flat so keep your speed up. to go the opposite way from the Rila side to the Yastrebets side you have to head to the main gondola

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

Inghams - I will ask our rep when I get there tomorrow if he is reporting conditions are good, but I seriously doubt he is as he gets all the ear ache once people arrive and discover the true conditions. Their jobs must be pretty miserable at the moment, bless them! That said the agents should be held accountable for not reporting the true conditions.
Off to pack now, see you all tommorow/Sunday - Bon Voyage!

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

Thanks Mac,
Thats straight forward, is it poss to ski or walk to the main gondola for yastrabets from rila or do you have to get transport to it?

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

walking from Rila to the gondola is about 300m. The is an option to ski but it is a little tricky to explain. you have to come down Martinovi Baraki 4 piste and as it levels out (about 200m before the yanakiev hotel) you take a left and travel along a very flat patch for about 200m, cross a road and then ski down to the gondola. This left exit is the same place that you enter the Rila side if you come down the Musala pathway. hope that helps. I'm sure you will spot it on the second or third go

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

Great post.

Four of us are coming over tomorrow via Birmingham, and it's our first visit. A bIt bummed to hear about the snow, but we will make the most of it.

We've not booked an ski-passes or lessons yet - is that worth doing before we come, or is best to play it by ear when we arrive?

re: BOROVETS UPDATE - 8TH JAN

Hugh/Steve best to wait till you arrive, you may want to go over to Bansko if the snow is still ok there, no point buying a lift pass if youre not going to use it.
