We got the childrens and Simons ski coats and trousers etc from Aldi. They only come on sale once a year, usually around the 1st week in January and when the stuff is gone, it's gone £15 for a kids outfit means you can get one that fits and don't mind getting a new one next year. They wear the coat during the rest of the winter and until we get a new one. I also get their boots there - they look like a walking boot so are great for other activities as well - £9, can't be beaten! Mine are from last year and have a thermal inside and keep my feet toasty at the coldest rugby match - oh to be the mother of boys!!

I got myself a new ski jacket this year from Tchibo - £25 - very warm and seems to be doing the job. I had a Helly Hansen boarding jacket last year but have found it not to be warm enough for me so I have to wear about 10 layers underneath and look like the michelin man
